Who am I?
I am a lifelong learner: curious, reflective, and always growing. Whether personally or professionally, I love to discover new ideas, ask thought-provoking questions, and expand on what I know. You can often find me listening to podcasts, reading books, or learning a new skill.
I grew up among the cornfields of Iowa, wondering about other people and places beyond what I knew. That early sense of wonder grew into a passion for exploration, and since then, I’ve traveled and lived abroad, including in Germany, Thailand, Bahrain, and Tunisia. Travel has taught me how to connect across cultures and persevere through obstacles.
What have I done?
My career began in education, where I taught learners from diverse backgrounds and age groups in the United States and Bahrain. I designed student-centered experiences that maximized learning impact. Over time, I became the first instructional coach at my school, where I used adult learning principles to build and implement onboarding, coaching cycles, and professional development.
To further develop my skills, I pursued a Master’s in Instructional Design and Technology, where I deepened my skills in adult learning theory, multimedia design principles, and authoring tools like Canvas, Canva, and Kaltura Capture. My work now blends these experiences to create learning experiences that are research-based, innovative, and responsive to real people.
How do I work?
I approach each project with curiosity, collaboration, and intention. I follow the ADDIE model as a flexible framework, starting with a strong emphasis on analysis. By taking time to fully understand the problem, learners, and goals, I can make thoughtful decisions that will drive engagement and meet outcomes.
I value collaboration and feedback throughout each step of the process. Whether I’m consulting with subject matter experts, co-creating materials with teammates, or incorporating feedback from learners and stakeholders, I believe the best solutions are built through shared insight.
